Free TV!

So Mandy took out the trash on Saturday night, and saw the back of what looked like a large T.V. sitting next to the dumpster at our apartment, and told me about it this morning. We decided to take a look at it to see if it worked at all or if there was a good reason for throwing it out. Well, it works!

The only problem is a little crack in the screen, and since it's a projection DLP T.V, we can probably get a replacement if necessary! It's a 56" - the biggest T.V. we may ever have. The next task is fitting it in the car and getting it back to Utah.

By the way, when these babies were on the market (i.e. before LCD and plasma TVs), they sold for around $4000. Well, this is just another day in the life of the C-rocketts.

My Birthday

It has been for-ev-ur since posting anything, but it's Sunday and I've got some new photos to put up.

On the floor - 2 puma shirts, Almond Joys from Carole and Mandy's family, a book from Mandy's grandmother, the photo of the tools, a bunch of fun memories from Dad typed up, and some DVDs!

On my torso - a nice transformers shirt from Buckle to go along with the Puma ones.

On my wrist - the cool watch Mandy got for me.

Well, Wednesday the 25th was Mandy's birthday, and we were able to spend the evening celebrating with a bunch of friends! Here are a few pictures from that and the previous Sunday game night with roommates.

It's about time!

What a long time it has been since my last post! I feel lazy for not taking care of that sooner, but to solve that, we needed more pictures, so last weekend took care of that for us.

Our first stop last weekend was in Phoenix, where we met with Mom, Dad, Carole, and the Maryland Crocketts during a 3 hour layover, enjoying Rolberto's chimichangas.

Friday night was temple night, when Mandy received her endowment in the Atlanta Temple.

The wedding shower was on Saturday morning, where tons of Mandy's friends were there to congratulate and support her. We got this great book and a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card as a gift too! Thanks Crockett family!

And I did have time to propose formally to make all of this official, which happened just a few hours before the wedding shower at a lookout point at the Buford Dam at Lake Lanier.

Here's a picture of the ring so you all can see it - Mandy and I both think it looks great on her finger!

And oh, so many gift cards!

Jazz Game

So along with Don's birthday this Friday, it was the birthday of a friend in our ward here in Provo, so we celebrated by going to Cafe Rio. ---------------------------------------------------------

We finished off the night for Alexis' birthday by going to the Jazz/Raptors game, which I was able to find tickets for on eBay for $5 a ticket! Our seats ended up on the very last row, but we still had a great time! I think the Jazz are doing pretty well this season, because the final score was 114 - 87.

MP3 Madness

So I've noticed that this blog has become a technology blog, I suppose since the only pictures I take (unfortunately) are of the things that come in the mail, e.g. my computer. I'll try to start taking more pictures of people, since I'm actually hanging out with a lot of different friends from the ward.

So a few weeks ago, I bought a wireless mouse to go with my laptop to get rid of all the wires connected to my old computer. This one is http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/4335&cl=us,en the Logitech v450 nano. It's a great little mouse and fits in my backpack, so I can take it wherever. Notice the "nano reciever" on the right, which sticks out the side of my computer by about 1/4".

Also, last week, I purchased and iPod, so now I've got an mp3 player (finally) with which to listen to my music. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_classic?mco=MTE2NTc

And for charging purposes, I purchased a mini usb a/c charger for $10 on ebay, which apple sells on their website http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB352LL/B?fnode=MTY1NDA4NA&mco=MTY1OTg1Nw for $30.

New Laptop!

So this week, after a lot of shopping around Dell's website, I got a laptop. It's been quite a big deal to decide exactly what I wanted with the best price, but after hours of reading reviews and comparing hardware offered in many different laptops, I finally decided on the Dell Precision M4400 - http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&m_11=XP33BNP&oc=bwdwqgp&s=bsd

It's specced out to provide plenty of computing power for the next few years and do everything I need it to.

So now that I've got my new computer, the 'ol desktop has been retired to "the carpet beneath the bed," rarely to be started up again.
